Checking Equation Solutions–Distributive Property

With these worksheets, you will match equations with their correct solutions.  You will be able to practice plugging values into an equation while using the distributive property.  If the chosen value makes the left side of the equation match the right side, voila, you have the correct solution!  There are even examples in case you get stuck.

The first two worksheets contain only positive, integer solutions.  The final two worksheets incorporate positive and negative integers, as well as fractions.  This is a great way to see what it means for a value to be a “solution” to an equation.  It also gives you more exposure to the distributive property.    Remember, there’s always more than one way to solve a problem!
