A rectangular prism is a 3-dimensional geometric shape that resembles a raised rectangle. In order to figure out how much space is inside of a rectangular prism, you must know the length width, and height of the prism. Once you discover that simple information, all you need to do is calculate the area of the bottom, which is a rectangle. That’s simple, length times width. Then you multiply that area times the height of the shape. It’s really that simple.
For those of you that prefer formulas, here it is:
Volume (rectangular prism) = (base length x base width) x height
By the time you finish these geometry worksheets, you’ll know how to find the volume of a rectangular prism in more ways than one!
